Ice Factor is a leading provider of professional and recreational ice rink systems.

For each project we provide you with the the most suitable solution from our own depots. Contrary to most ice rink rental companies, we do not limit ourselves to one type of system. For semi-temporary and mobile systems we use both EPDM and Aluminium ice rink systems.

Modular EPDM Ice box ice rinks

Modular EPDM Ice box ice rinks are very flexible and versatile to use.

EPDM (rubber) systems is very easy to adjust for special shapes and sizes, like ice paths and ice slides + Compact in both  storage as transport + Deliver a very good ice quality because of the layered buid up of the ice pad standard EPDM IceBox ice rinks are 2,5m wide metal units with an icemat length of 21 – 31 – 41 m

+ Very quick install and easy to handle + Ready to skate within 24 hrs after the start of freezing + No need for spraying, but for ice quality reasons we strongly advise to spray the last inch of ice + Capable of resisting high pressure > 10 bar + Capable of making long runs> 60m + Full Aluminium system, extreme low risk of glycol leakage

MODULAR ICE FACTOR ALUMINIUM ICE RINKS

Aluminium ice rink system

We have designed our own unique Aluminium ice rink system.

All aluminium connections in the ice field are glued with a very high spec technology also used in the aircraft and aerospace industry.

The whole system and all connections are only made out of aluminum parts with internal EPDM O-rings as valves . This guarantees a homogeneous heat absorbtion throughout the whole system.

No separate (rubber) connectors, no epdm (foldable) tubes, no jubilee clips and no welding.

This reduces the risk for any leaks to the absolute minimum, contrary to any other available (foldable) aluminium system from other suppliers.

Standard size of each aluminium ice rink part is 1×5 m, but other sizes like 1×4 or even 1x1m are available for making size adjustments.

For Ice paths and 400m speed skating rinks we have produced a wide variety of adaptor pieces to make all kinds of curves, shapes and corners.

For customized ice rinks with special shapes and sizes please be advised to place your order at least 3 months for opening to ensure delivery of all needed special adjustment parts.

Ice Rink Barrier Systems

At Ice Factor we use 3 type of barrier systems:

Wooden barriers

For recreational use rustic wooden barriers provide a good basic and safe barrier solution. These barriers are easy and quick to setup and very easy to adjust. Besides for use on mobile ice rinks especially ideal for skateway ice paths height @ + 80 +100 (standard) or + 120 cm. warwick castle ice round about

Metal Barriers: Opaque or transparent

For the most solid and rigid barrier solution we advise these barriers made out of galvanised steel cladded with opaque or transparent PE panels and a 15 cm kick-board. Panels come in standard length of 2m- 1m 0,5 m and 025 m. standard height 1 m or 1,2m on request. Top railing available in PE and wood. Player doors and service doors are available for access to the ice rink barrier. With a fully enclosed barrier system the wind will have less of a negative effect on the quality of the ice compared with the open wooden barriers

BARRIER ICE RINK SYSTEMS

Refrigeration Chillers

Ice Rink Chiller equipment:

The most critical part of your rental ice rink installation

Besides the ice mat, refrigeration is a critical factor to make and maintain ice.

For the refrigeration of our ice rinks we make use of the extensive fleets of our preffered  international refrigeration rental partners. Each company is a true specialist in the field of Chiller and heating equipment, each with a dedicated 365/24/7 service and maintenance team.

For each individual project/client we design the best cooling solution and then supply this with one of our prefered suppliers

Some rules of thumb and checkpoints  when using chiler equipment:

size and weight matters:

Ice rinks can sometimes be placed  on tight venue sites, with restricted acces or even on rooftops or pontoons.

more is better

We prefer to use more than one chiller unit if possible. This improves cooling efficiency and reduces the risk of a complete shutdown in the rare ecevnet of a defected machine

Be silent

Depending on the type of chiller and it’s age, some chillers can be quite noisy. Especially in a city center this is a absolute  NO GO

IceFactor pays extra attention to the noise specification of rental chillers and makes sure you will be supplied with new and silent equipment.
